Centenary Closing Celebration 2020

A glimpse of historic Centenary Closing Celebrations held on 29 January 2020

After a spectacular Centenary Celebration program in February 2019, the Institute celebrated the closing ceremony of the Centenary Celebration on the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi on 29 January 2020. The ceremony saw a massive audience at the great campus of Bharat Ratna Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya Ji, with alumni of BENCO, MIN-MET, TECHNO, IT-BHU, and IIT (BHU), Varanasi, their spouse and family members gracing the event with their presence. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Shri Shreenivas Gururao Deshpande (Alumnus, 1948), while the Guest of Honour was his son, Shri Gururaj “Desh” Deshpande. The itinerary included the inauguration of the 90-year old refurbished BENCO Chimney and the newly erected Teaching and Learning Center. The Golden Jubilee Reunion of 1970 Batch was also successfully organized after coordinating with all the Alumni Associations of IIT (BHU) in India and abroad. The celebrations ended with a cultural performance by SPICMACAY on the beautiful winter night of the same day.
